Rolling Through These Streets…
My boyfriend is an avid roller blader and insists it’s an amazing workout. I’m always game to learn a new sport, so I ordered a pair and they have finally arrived! I used to rollerblade around my basement all the time as a kid, but i was only brave enough to go outside on wheels a few times. I’m probably too afraid of falling, but to be fair it’s not uncommon to break bones this way. My mom broke both wrists in the same summer by bailing on hills.
Anyways, I’ve ventured outside twice this week. I felt like a baby deer wobbling on new legs the first time, but yesterday I went for a couple of hours (and no falls)! I wore nerdy wrist guards but it helped calm my nerves so I don’t care how I looked. It’s definitely not easy, and it’s a pretty decent glute and core workout. So far, I love it! Talk to me after I inevitably fall and we’ll see if my opinion changes, but as of right now I am rolling through these streets and feeling cool…
